My love for Foodservice began back of the house (BOH) with flipping burgers at 16. This passion grew as I worked in pizzerias in college and summer vacations. My pizzeria career lead me to jobs in Cape Cod, Pittsburgh, and Athens Ohio.
I always enjoyed the organized chaos of the kitchen. Time in front of the house (FOH) was limited but gave me the opportunity to interact with customers.
After college, I dropped the apron, utilized my experience and education, and entered the B2B side. Throughout my roles in Foodservice I always enjoyed listening to the stories of Foodservice operators. Each has a unique and inspiring history of how they started their business. It is these stories that are the soul of the Foodservice industry. I am lucky enough to share my passion and help businesses navigate the path.
Quite often, I still think back to my first days of burger and fries with fondness and nostalgia.
I am lucky! I have experienced the world of Foodservice as a Manufacturer, Broker, and Distributor. My firsthand knowledge in each of these components of the business gives me an intimate understanding of Foodservice. All these pieces come together to support the operator. At times it is a delicate balance that culminates in a common goal, helping the operator.
The key to success in Foodservice is building strong relationships. I enjoy collaborating, ideating, and finding out what makes people and their business tick. Foodservice has afforded me the opportunity to build working relationships and valued friendships.
When we connect with a spirit of helping it opens a dialogue. Honest and open discussion uncovers challenges which become opportunities. Working through these puzzles together will form a trusted relationship.
I am fortunate to have the unique perspective of sales and marketing giving me a wide view of the Foodservice segment with an understanding of both these key components.
Sales and Marketing in Foodservice are different than retail. They speak to the business and culinary side. The operator touches the product everyday while a consumer may use a product once every few weeks or months. Foodservice requires a different approach.
Foodservicexpert was founded with the intent to service start-up and small food manufacturers who wish to expand into the Foodservice market.
We recognize there are retail focused businesses looking to expand to Foodservice as well as new entrants who have a local presence and desire to go national.
Foodservicexpert is a simple concept; affordable insights, strategy, and execution.
There has been a gap for smaller companies, with smaller budgets looking for guidance in the Foodservice channel.
Our vision is to offer a service helping those who want to share their product with the world of Foodservice.
